Dr. Brandon Barrett, DVM
Dr. Barrett received his bachelors in Biology from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 1997. He then received his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 2001 and has been working at Community Veterinary Clinic ever since. He treats both small animals (dogs and cats) and exotic species (birds, reptiles, amphibians, rodents, rabbits, etc.) Dr. Barrett and his wife Tonia, a local photographer, are both from Turlock.
Dr. Barrett is involved with teaching Vet Club for local children along with Dr. Santos. He is also a teacher at Modesto Junior College, where he teaches surgical, dental , radiology, and anesthetic procedures to future veterinary technicians.

Dr. Carol Van Hoogmoed, DVM
Dr. Carol was born in Atwater, CA. With her father in the military the family would move to a new base every four years. After years of traveling across the country and Germany. Dr. Carol's family made it back to Atwater, where her father retired from the Air Force. She has always had a love for animals; when she was around six years old she brought an injured rat home to try and help it. Needless to say, her, mother was hot happy about the rat. Dr. Carol's interest in animals led her to Fresno State and then to UC Tennessee to become a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1996.
Dr. Carol is currently a full-time mom and a part-time vet. Her husband Andy is a Captain for the City of Merced Fire Department.
Dr. Carol loves working with all animals but her passion is for horses. She also has an interest in acupuncture and Chinese herbs. Currently she is working on her certification for acupuncture. She is a member of many local and national veterinary organizations.
